Why do we ignore the warning of our inner voice?
I have been writing since as early as I can remember. I recently read a journal entry that blew my mind (and I am in a constant state of reflection). I wrote it exactly one year before my wedding (to the month, October 2004). I wrote how I felt imprisoned and couldn’t do it anymore. Why did I go forward? A million reasons. But what I wrote ten years later was almost identical, when I asked for a divorce… Your “gut” is your 24 hour internal early warning system. Why do we ignore it? If you could revisit thoughts from the past, you’d realize you could have avoided a lot of suffering. My journals baffle me, why didn’t I listen? If we simply “pay attention” we would hear our inner voice warning us. Granted sometimes we are meant to proceed regardless, as our soul chooses an experience to grow and expand (mine was to give life to three beautiful children). But by paying attention and trusting OUR inner voice, knowing it is a higher power guiding us, we could move through life’s trials much quicker, lighter, and happier… and ultimately save a lot of time
