Somewhere along the way, we were conditioned to believe we can actually control life… We can’t even “control” ourselves. Do we consciously “decide” in a moment if something is going to irritate or make us angry? No. Do we consciously decide it’s “now” time to release all unnecessary bi-products from our bodies (go to the bathroom)? No. Yes, we can delay it temporarily, but the continual digestive process we aren’t even conscious of while its happening. Can we consciously decide it’s time to get over the flu, heal a cut or broken bone? Of course not. If we didn’t eat when hungry or drink when thirsty we would die. So where the hell did we learn that we had control over life, things outside of us? We can’t even “control” ourselves… We think because we can cut down a tree to build a house, build a bomb to blow things up, or kill something else that is alive, that we have power. We know so little… © Jodi Healy
