It is not anyone else’s fault that we feel or act the way we do…

At some point in life each one of us needs to take responsibility for ourselves, completely.. our thoughts (good or bad), our feelings (pleasant or unpleasant), our words, and our actions.. It is not anyone else’s fault that we feel or act the way we do, no matter what. We need to stop blaming everyone and everything else for our experience. Yes, someone may have done something that hurt us, maybe even intentionally… but maybe they didn’t.. maybe what they did wasn’t to hurt you, maybe it was to take care of themselves. Whatever the “reason”, it is irrelevant. Life isn’t suppose to be about checklists and making someone else wrong or responsible for us. These rules and expectations we place on each other are ridiculous. We try to stop others free will to control how they affect us, make us feel or fit in an ideal. True happiness rests in our ability to detach, accept what is, be authentic, and responsible for our part. © Jodi Healy
